The 3 basic needs for survival is food, clothing and shelter. And it's been converged with technology today. Earlier, we cook with three rocks on the ground, over open fire, burning dung, coal and wood for fuel. Cooking has come a long way and we are using pressure cooker, induction cooktops and microwave oven today.

The dress we wear comes out of materials revolution, from plant fibres into soft fabrics and industry revolution, the transition from hand production methods to machines, chemical manufacturing and iron production processes. The sewing machine changed the way clothing was made and the speed at which clothes were manufactured.

In construction industry which primarily used to provide shelter, the early building materials used were decayable such as leaves, branches and animal's skin. Later, we used more durable natural materials such as clay, stone and timber. Later, synthetic materials such as brick, concrete, metals and plastics were used. Innovation in building materials evolving with a new generation of stronger, lighter and more sustainable materials such as self-healing concrete, laminated-timber(mass timber), modular bamboo, light generating concrete, hydroceramics, etc. Hydroceramics is made of clay composite and hydrogel that cools building the same way our our bodies sweat to cool us down. The growth is not only in materials but in other fields too. One such thing is usage of CCTV (Closed-circuit Television) to build security camera systems for ensuring our safety.

Transportation is a concern when we are planning to reach a destination. In the early part of 20th century, Ford's Model T car replaced horse-drawn carriage. Now, we are booking planes, trains, cars using internet and soon spaceships too. The plus point is transferring money is quick and easier through mobile apps!

Entertainment is meant for joy and laughter. When it comes to entertainment the first thing comes to our mind is movies. All aspects of theatre experience from size and resolution of the screen, the audio system, lighting, in-house style and comfort, the quality of

seats conveys the improvement of technology. The 4DX, a 4D film format, incorporates on-screen visuals with synchronized motion seats and environmental effects such as water, wind, fog, scent, snow and more to enhance the action on screen. What if we can't go out? No issues... There are online streaming technologies such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, etc. The delivery of audio and video over the internet can reach many millions of customer using their personal computers, smartphones or other streaming devices.

Now it's time to spice up by knowing some cool technologies. Google duplex, an AI (Artificial Intellingence) system for accomplishing real world tasks over the phone, initially released in May 2016 and currently live in some part of the world. It makes natural conversation such as calling a restaurant and scheduling hair saloon appointment.

Amazon Go, the store where customers able to purchase products without being checked out by a cashier, has 29 open and announced store locations in US and UK as of 2020. DOM, previously known as DRU (Domino's Robotic Uint), is an autonomous home delivery pizza vehicle. While it won't be taking the streets tomorrow, DOM is a big step forward in the future commercialisation of this technology.

Thus, technology is an inseparable part of our life. It makes our work easier, chages our life in a better way and innovates things cheaper to be accessed by everyone. In the near future, everyone will have a digital assistant like Iron Man talking with JARVIS!!!
